What I like best about Mr. Strieber's work is his attitude of not jumping to judgement about the phenomenon called 'alien abduction'. Throughout this book he makes it plain that he does not know what this phenomenon is and strives to examine the evidence with an open mind. He has been harassed and vilified by the skeptics as well as some UFO groups because he will not tow the line on their agenda.
In this work he has examined and presented new abduction cases which he admits cannot be verified. He is not sure of the validity of hypnosis for extracting memories for lost time so he does not rely on this controversial method. He does not use this work to present his own abduction experiences, instead he presents cases to weave together scenarios that might give us answers or clues that might lead us to some answers.
I was especially intrigued by the implant evidence he has gathered.
He presents the reader with some thought provoking video stills and reports
on some other aerial phenomenon which may not be alien life at all. He
has documented the implants from the moment they are removed from the
witness all the way through testing. Testing was done in the controlled
environment of the lab. Although the tests were interesting, and some
quite disturbing, none of the implants showed any otherworldly design
or other evidence that they were manufactured by aliens.
A good work on this subject and I would recommend it to anyone who is
interested in this aspect of paranormal phenomenon.
