BOOK: Satanic Bible
AUTHOR: Anton Szandor LaVey
PUBLISHER: Avon Books
COPYRIGHT: 1969 Anton Szandor LaVey

Anton LaVey is a good example of a dedicated occultist. His book, The Satanic Bible, seems more a manual of occult training than a worshipping of Satan or Demonic Spirits make no mistake however, it is both. This book points at the human animal and seeks to elevate this animal nature to divine status. As for the rituals, which are highly imaginative, they make use of sound occult principals. Their effect however will depend more on the practioner than the rituals themselves. As to the Enochian Invocations, it has been debated that these were created by John Dee to impress ignorant observers and may be gibberish but, if it works for the practioner what does it matter? All in all an interesting book and a fascinating read if one can stomach the gross materialism it advocates.
