The Haunted Office: The Tapping Cabinets

I have been working a lot of overtime in my real job. I have a friend, who also works a lot of overtime in his real job. My friend knows I am a ghostwriter and ghost hunter. I will not be disclosing the name of my friend, nor where he works, because he could find himself in a lot of trouble for having me go into his building after working hours, plus, I could probably get into trouble. Anyway, let's get back to the story. Here I am working at my real job, the time is about 9pm. I get a call from my friend, he asks: "Paul, are you working overtime, or are you at home?" Paul: (deep sigh) "Working overtime." Friend: "Then Paul, get your a-- over here, it's happening now!" Paul: Okay, I just have a couple things to get out and I will zip over there!"

My friend claims that the office building where he works at is haunted. Some of the employees have claimed that trays that are supposed to go in a certain way are moved backwards in the morning. If the employees discuss that the office building is haunted, they could get into trouble by management. My friend a workaholic works late hours at this establishment and says at times, the cabinets in 4 cubicles will make a distinct loud tapping sound. It only happens ever so often, but when it does happen, it will last for up to a couple of hours. So, here I am zipping over to his building, somewhere in downtown Sacramento. My friend sneaks me into his office area and lo and behold, I hear the tapping sounds on one of the cabinets in a cubicle. I enter the cubicle where the tapping sounds are originating from and the tapping sounds switch over to the next cubicle's cabinet. I run over to the next cubicle and it moves again into another cubicle and then another cubicle. The tapping sounds on the cabinets go around 4 cubicles. So when you reach one cubicle cabinet where the tapping sounds are heard, it moves to the next cubicle's cabinet and so on and so on. It was the weirdest thing, I have ever witnessed. You could even see the cabinets shake. It sounded like a person with long fingernails was actually tapping the cabinets. I was in this office for a period of 20 minutes and chased the tapping sound during that whole time, trying to catch up with it. I could peek into the next cubicle and see the cabinets shake from the tapping, but as soon as I arrived in that cubicle, it already shifted into the next cubicle. I asked my friend, what the history of this place was and he said most employees think it's the ghost of a former female employee that died by sitting in her parked running car, that was in her garage. She died of inhaling hydrogen sulfide gas. She committed suicide, because she found out her husband was having an affair with one of her co-workers at this building.

The tapping of the cabinets happens ever so often. I was fortunate, because I was working late this night, when this paranormal incident occurred. I can now say that I have been on over 65 investigations and 4 have been significant, where either I heard something, saw something, or was touched by something. On this night, I was able to witness the paranormal by actually hearing the tapping and seeing the cabinets shake. For the tapping to run from me, shows some kind of intelligence paranormal activity. Thank you my friend, for allowing me to witness this. Either I witnessed the paranormal this night, or witnessed fast moving cockroaches that can move swiftly from one cabinet to another. I have no explanation for this activity. I am baffled and dumbfounded.

Onto other news. Like I said, HPI (Haunted and Paranormal Investigations International) investigates all things paranormal. Shannon 'Ms. Macabre' McCabe, H.P.I.'s President, and I, have been looking into the legend of the Chupacabra. Since we can't find any Chupacabras in California, we are headed down to Mexico to investigate. We will be most likely in Mexico, by November 2008.

From our studies, it appears that the Chupacabra phenomenon originated in Puerto Rico, but has now spread out into parts of South America, Central America, Mexico and even parts of Southern Texas. On April 1989, many mutilations were discovered in Ceiba Norte, which is in the east central regions of Puerto Rico. The mutilations are credited to the mythical beast, the Chupacabra. Other strange creatures that can be associated with the Chupacabra was a strange reptilian bird that had two large fangs. One was captured when it was struck by a beam of light. The beam of light actually brought the bird down. The locales say that this Serpent Bird howled like a dog, ate raw meat and it's skin was toad like with no feathers. Only one picture of this creature exists before policeman came to the door and took this strange creature away. Could the Serpent Bird be some type of Chupacabra? The most common type of Chpacabra, are the ones that eye witnesses say has scales and has large eyes like a 'gray' alien. Could this be some military experiment gone awry? Is the military experimenting with DNA? Some historians have theorized that if Atlantis did exist, that their technology was so advanced, that the people of Atlantis may have experimented with DNA alterations that could have created our mythical beasts, such as the Centaur (half man / half horse). Why would a Centaur be created? For war purposes. A warrior that had the agility and movement of a horse and the capability to hold a weapon. What if the military is working on DNA manipulation to create a super soldier and the experiments went wrong? What if their creations escaped into the landscape of Puerto Rico? What if the military is in cahoots with the 'grays' in DNA biological technology? It does appear the military is interested in the stars, because the largest radio telescope - the Arecibo Observatory is in Puerto Rico. Every time there are sightings of Chupacabra, it's interesting on how fast the military arrives to the scene. It's also interesting to note, that UFOs are seen coming in and out of the ocean near Puerto Rico. When a strange creature with bug eyes was seen in Varginha, Brazil crouching in the darkness, the military was there in a New York minute. The town folks say the military captured the creature and whisked it away.

Puerto Rico, the Bermuda Triangle, South America, Mexico have so many UFO sightings. Lake Titicaca is rumored to have UFO camp bases under it's waters. There is so much activity in these areas, Shannon and I, must head south to investigate for ourselves. The last time Shannon was in Mexico, she saw a horse with a huge wound in it's neck. Shannon confronted a boy who owned the horse. She asked the boy what caused the wound on his horse's neck. The boy told Shannon that the Chupacabra took a bite out of the horse's neck.

Shannon and I, plan to conduct many interviews in Mexico and actually go to some areas where the Chupacabra has been spotted. Shannon and I, once again will dabble into the world of Cyptozoology. We are not just ghost hunters, we investigate ALL things paranormal. Stayed tuned!

Let's get away from the paranormal for a bit. On May 7, 2008, Wednesday, we had a big birthday party for our illustrious leader Shannon McCabe. On May 11,2008 will be her birthday. She will be 34 years old. We held the celebration at Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana - 400 Capitol Mall. What is interesting is that this restaurant is next to the 400 Capitol Mall parking lot, which is reputed to be haunted and is the place that Shannon saw her first full body apparition. Oh no, I said I wouldn't talk about the paranormal for a bit. Let's change the topic back to her birthday. There was great food, drinks and birthday cake. I gave Shannon a nice ceramic female fairy with dragon wings & a birthday card. I picked out the fairy, because well...it's paranormal. Attended were: Jennifer Baca, Debbie Talani, Tim Hawkins, Valerie, Cindy, Kim (she was celebrating her birthday too), Kathleen, Lydia (who brought over the birthday cake for Shannon, purchased at Rick's Dessert Diner) & Jennifer Cicero - Designer of Sweet Tart Designs. Our server was the pleasant and delightful Rhonda of Il Fornaio. Afterwards we all went to the 4th Street Grille for drinks. Shannon & Jennifer Cicero showed Jennifer, Debbie and I, where they actually work at, a place called A Florist Naturally. Yes, Shannon's real job is a florist and she gave us all a bouquet of flowers. I also learn this night after Shannon had a few drinks in her, that she is 'Lady En Du Tromp, Tim Hawkins is Tim 'Lourd Hawkins' and Jennifer is Jennifer 'Jezabel' Cicero. Shan, Tim and Jennifer all participate in the Renaissance Faires. They want me to visit the next faire event in Fair Oaks, which will be the last weekend in June. We thank Il Fornaio for the complimentary bottle of champagne! Shannon let's me know that ghost hunters need to unwind, by doing something normal, like celebrating her birthday! She topped off her birthday, by going to a B-52's concert with her mother the very next day! Happy birthday Shannon!

HPI has other interesting cases in the works. In October, we plan to investigate New Orleans for ghostly hauntings, zombies and voodoo! Our team will consist of Shannon McCabe, Paul Dale Roberts, Jennifer Baca and Bryan Coleman. January 2009, I will be investigating ghostly activity in Aruba. Witnesses have made claims of seeing a ghostly blonde woman on the beach. Could this be the ghost of Natalee Holloway? I guess, I will have to find out for myself.
